The Big Payback - Build A Foundation

Christmas Party '14

Habitat for Humanity of Sumner County held its annual Christmas/Volunteer Recognition Party on Monday, December 8th at the First Presbyterian Church of Gallatin.  Approximately 90 homeowners, volunteers, and sponsors were in attendance and enjoyed the food catered by Longhorn Steakhouse of Gallatin.  Plaques were awarded to the Volunteer of the Year, Corporate Partner of the Year, and Church Partner of the Year.  In memory of Board Member, John Jones, who passed away in 2014, the John Jones Volunteer of the Year was awarded to Norm Smith, a finish carpenter who has volunteered on the last 43 new home builds in Sumner County! The Corporate Partner of the Year was Farmers Bank of Portland.  In addition to donating two lots to Habitat in Portland, they also did the siding work on two homes, one in Bethpage and the other in Portland, during 2014.  The Church Partner of the Year was Rehoboth United Methodist Church of Gallatin. They have provided the leadership and some of the members of our Mid-Week Group, a group of 'handy' men and women that work during the week to keep our homes on schedule and do all of the punch list items to prepare the homes for the homeowners. Rehoboth is also a regular financial contributor to the ministry of Habitat for Humanity of Sumner County.
