Deconstruction

Deconstruction

We are currently scheduling limited decontruction projects.  We hope to expand this offering in the future.

For people remodeling or demolishing

a home, deconstruction is an environmentally responsible alternative to demolition.

Contact Ed Dozier at 615-230-3032 to discuss your deconstruction needs.

What is Deconstruction?

Deconstruction is the removal of salvageable items in the reverse order of their installation. This reduces the amount of materials disposed into landfills. All salvagable items are then sold to the public at the Habitat ReStore.

How is Deconstruction beneficial?

Deconstruction diverts demolition waste from the landfill and reuses these valuable building materials. The Sumner County Habitat Restore Deconstruction Programs provides a smart alternative for keeping valuable resources from consuming our limited landfill space.

What kinds of materials are salvageable?

Windows, doors, cabinets, appliances, fixtures, flooring, trim, etc.

How can I benefit from Deconstruction?

Deconstruction donations are tax deductible, better for the environment, and proceeds help Habitat for Humanity of Sumner County build more affordable housing for hard-working families.
