BOARD BUILD

Past and present board members are uniting to make a difference through the Board Build! This special initiative brings together the dedicated leaders who have shaped Habitat for Humanity of Sumner County over the years. By sponsoring and volunteering on this build, our board members are continuing their legacy of service, creating a lasting impact for a local family, and demonstrating the power of leadership in action. Together, they’re building more than a home—they’re building a stronger, more hopeful community.

Meet Martha

Martha is a devoted mother of four who has faced significant challenges on her journey to provide a safe home for her family. After years of working tirelessly as a medical receptionist and raising her children, she struggled to find stable, affordable housing. Her two youngest children, Kairah (16) and Orlando (11), have grown up in spaces plagued by issues like black mold and bitter drafts, but Martha never gave up hope.

Encouraged by her best friend, Martha applied to Habitat for Humanity to achieve her lifelong dream of homeownership. “Having a safe, stable home means everything to me,” she shares. “It’s a place where my kids can feel secure, and where we can create new memories and traditions together.”

With the support of Habitat and her community, Martha is excited to move into a home that gives her peace of mind and a brighter future for her family. Your contributions as donors and volunteers make stories like Martha’s possible—helping families find stability, hope, and a place to call home.
